May is a photographer and aspiring cinematographer, filmmaker currently based in Vancouver, BC. Born in Malaysia and raised in Brunei, she moved to Canada in 2012 to complete a BSc in Forestry.

In 2023, May had the opportunity to finally delve into her longtime curiosity and passion for cinematography, leading her to The Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague. While there, she had the chance to shoot on 16mm and 35mm analog film, as well as writing and directing her first short film.
